NCTC Drama announces virtual auditions

NCTC Drama announced this week that they are holding auditions for Lauren Gunderson’s “Natural Shocks” on July 7 & 8 by appointment. “Natural Shocks” is a one-woman, tour-de-force play that bursts to life when we meet a woman waiting out an imminent tornado in her basement. She overflows with quirks, stories, and a final secret. The play is part confessional, part stand up, and part reckoning. It will be presented as a virtual presentation on August 28, 29, & 30 at 7:30 PM

The production will be directed by Missy Embrey, NCTC Drama Technical Director and Drama Instructor. When asked about what attracted her to the production, Missy said, “I felt a pull to this show in particular because it is a story that is relatable, on some level, to every woman I've ever met. The subject matter in this woman's story is something that binds all women together, and it needs to be told.”

For Fall 2020, NCTC Drama will be embracing the mantra, “The Show Must Go On!”, and  presenting all of their productions virtually. Tickets will be available through nctc.universitytickets.com.

One woman, age 18 or older, is needed for the production. Auditions will be done by appointment only. Interested actresses will need to email Missy Embrey at membrey@nctc.edu to get an audition packet and an appointment time.

Anyone interested in participating in NCTC Drama this fall, can contact Thom Talbott, Chair of Visual & Performing Arts at ttalbott@nctc.edu.
