The Mary Josaphine Cox Library on the Gainesville Campus

Campus Libraries are open for Fall 2020!

Each campus library is open Monday through Thursday from 7:30am-5:30pm, with entrance doors closing at 5:15pm to allow for cleaning. Books and audio/visual materials are available for checkout, and the General Access Computer Labs are available for student use on all but the Corinth campus. Photocopiers are also available.

In Gainesville, the Library’s capacity is currently set at 39, including 12 available computers. Students in Gainesville can do their campus COVID-19 check-in at the Library. A QuickPrint station is also available in the Health Sciences Building.

In Bowie, capacity is 7, with 3 computers available.

Flower Mound has a capacity of 25, with 16 computers available.

The Corinth Library has up to 4 computers available, including a Mac for CITE students, with a total capacity of 14. The Corinth Library is also using the QLess system for students that would like to reserve a spot in the Library. Students will need to download the QLess app. Using QLess is not required to enter the Library. QuickPrint Stations are also available on each floor of the Corinth campus.

At each Library, if capacity is reached, the entrance doors will be locked until spots become available. Everyone will need to follow all campus rules, including wearing masks and social distancing.

How do I get to a Database off-campus? What's the password? add

To get to the databases off-campus, you must go through the MyNCTC portal at MyNCTC.

  1. Login to MyNCTC with your NetID (SmithJ123456) and Student ID (123000456 or 123456).
  2. On the left-hand side of the screen is a link for "Library Services." Click this link.
  3. On the left-hand side of the screen is a link for "Library Databases." Click this link.
  4. On the Library Databases screen, the username and the password for the databases is listed on the right-hand side of the screen. Make note of the username and password.
  5. Click on the link for the database you need.
  6. Enter the username and password you saw on the Library Databases screen.
  7. Conduct your research.

How many items may I check out? add

Students may check out up to 10 items, one of which being a media item (DVD). Community users may check out up to 3 items, one of which being a media item (DVD).

How long may I keep items out? add

Students may keep books out for 3 weeks during the long semesters (Spring and Fall) and for 1 week during the short semesters (Summer and Mini-mesters). Community users may keep books out for 3 weeks year round.

Circulating media items (DVDs) may be checked out 7 days by all users.

Reserve items may be checked out by students for the period designated by the instructor. For most materials, this is 2 hours in-library use.

What do I need to check out? add

You need your NCTC student ID card. This is obtained from the Business Office on your campus.
