Cosmetology

Cosmetology is the professional skill and practice of beautifying the face, hair, and skin. The Cosmetology program at NCTC offers hands-on instruction with today's latest salon products. Students receive a variety of training opportunities including classes by guest artists from leading manufacturers and salons and occasional field trips. The curriculum at NCTC is mandated by the State of Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and is designed to prepare graduates to take the TDLR Examination in Cosmetology, Esthetics, or Cosmetology Instruction.

Cosmetology students are taught to provide special services in haircoloring, foiling, texture services, braiding and hair extensions, and advanced training with shears, clippers and razors. Student also learn to provide services that include manicures/acrylic nails, facials, and pedicures.

Esthetics students are provided with the necessary knowledge and skills in basic skin care, basic and advanced facials, waxing, and other spa related treatments to prepare for a career in the health and beauty industry.
