Accounting is the “Language of Business”. NCTC’s Accounting Program offers students several options to pursue an accounting education. Certification preparation enables students to secure jobs in accounting while working towards a Degree.  Coursework will teach students the fundamentals of accounting as well as utilizing software to analyze data and prepare financial reports.

The Level 1 Certificate and the Associates Degree in Accounting can lead to a direct entry into accounting. Alternatively, a student can use the Associates Degree to continue their education at a 4-year university via pathways and obtain a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS) Degree.

Why Accounting?

  • Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) 2018 report predicts that the accounting occupations will grow in North Texas by 22.5% between 2016 and 2026
  • Texas Occupational Labor Analysis report between 2014 – 2024 there will be 30.9% growth in the accounting profession for North Central Texas.
  • Occupational Information Network predicts accounting and bookkeeping as Bright Outlook Occupations with rapid growth rate with numerous job openings for the North Central Texas area.
  • Accounting does not require complex math skills.
